MAWABENI SCHOOL 2015 NEWS

This year has started off slowly in this programme with the economic situation being suppressed. Nonetheless, despite the arrears on their accounts, the school continued to trust and in faith allowed all the children to attend school.
Mbali Nkomazana, one of the 2014 beneficiaries who wrote his Grade & National examinations passerd all four subjects very well and this proves a success story for the Rubatsro funded children at the school.
As you recall, we spoke about him in November 2014 as being a young person who demonstrated excdellent leadership skills and Godly values, he was lined up for a possible scholarship to South Africa in 2015. However, this was not successsful and he has since found a place at Mbalabala Secondary School where he wil be completing Form 1 end of this year. We are yet to know of the outcome of the other 15 former Grade 7 pupils who studied with hime and were also 2014 beeneficiaries of this programme.
Of the 53 students from last year, there are still 37 from last who are part of the school of which 32 are still in need of funds for their fees while the other 5 have paid a something towards their fees so far. We also identfied that an additional 38 vulnerable children were also in need of assistance.
In July we were blessed to have Caroline Muzondo who is a Community Development Student with Lupane State University serving full time with us until August 2016. She has been tasked and taken on faithfully the role of Interim Social Involvement Coordinator. With her passion for these kids she has made strides in carrying out a needs analysis and had a summary report for that which we have attached, though it includes other children in other areas of her work which will highlight the extent of the need.
Please see the attached schedule compiled by Caroline which included stationery requirements and schools for Mawabeni and another school as mentioned in the document.
Rubatsiro has over the years has been the key Non-govenmental sponsor for children at Mawabeni School with Capernum Trust (an Econet Wireless initiative) being the second funder of 16 pupils though they since dropped to only support 6 this year.
There are many needy children and we are supporting as manay as funds allow with the hope they will be grounded sufficiently to realise their dreams.
Thank you for your commitment as we partner together endeavouring to do our best for the good of these kids, with God’s help.
